Alive and Aware Program

During the month of October McDaniel Window and Door is teaming up with the American Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For every FREE in-home estimate we do this month, we will donate $20 to the American Cancer Society in honor or memory of your loved ones. For every order over 8 windows we will increase the donation to $100!

2011 Parade of Homes

McDaniel Window and Door is excited to participate in the Shoals Home Builders Association's 2011 Parade of Homes. Come visit us at the beautiful, energy efficient, showcase house located at

105 Aidan Ave.
Muscle Shoals

The home was built by Carol and Jerald Smith, owners of 5 Star Enterprises. We will be there this weekend:

September 24-25 &
October 1-2
Saturdays: 10AM to 5PM
Sundays: 1PM to 5 PM

We will be providing free hamburgers and hotdogs, both weekends, along with a chance to win a handmade cedar Alabama or Auburn football. It will be a lot of fun, and we encourage you to bring the whole family. There are twelve other homes, in various stages of development, that will be featured in the Parade of Homes this year --many of which McDaniel Window and Door has provided doors, windows, hardware, and/or decorative bath glass for. For more information you can visit our showroom in downtown Florence, corner of Tennessee St. and Wood Ave, to pick up a Parade of homes magazine which includes a map of this year's homes. Windows for Books?

McDaniel Window and Door Co. recently donated window panes to the Brooks High School Junior High Scholars' Bowl Team. The students made great creative re-uses of window panes which they sold at the Killen Founders day. The money raised was used to buy books. McDaniel Window and Door Co., is extremely grateful for our great community which continuously supports our local business. We loved to support the community in any way we can. We are glad we could help out a great cause.

Below, are two links to slideshows of the efforts on Thursday, April 28 and Friday, April 29 to collect donations for those whose lives were forever changed by the tornadoes that struck the northwest part of Alabama and other areas of the state.

Be sure to watch both of these slideshows and see the tremendous turnout we had on these two days! Immediately after it was announced that the collection of donations would be taking place, people from all over the Shoals area sprang into action and brought whole carloads of items to help those in need. People were touched in their hearts when they heard of the devastation that had taken place on the previous day. As the people called, asking if we were taking the donations, we could hear in their voices how much they wanted to help. It was inspiring to see how the people responded without any thought of their own names being in the limelight.

Equally inspiring were the volunteers who came by to devote both days to helping unload the donations from the cars and load them onto the delivery trucks. Below, is a list of those who we wish to thank for their efforts in making sure that the collection effort went along smoothly and efficiently. Those who donated the use of their company trucks for the collection of donations:

There are many who worked in the collection effort whose names we weren't able to write down; to those people we offer our thanks and gratitude.

Last, but certainly not least, we want to extend our thoughts and prayers to those whose lives have been forever changed by the events of April 27. We commend your strength and courage as you rebuild your lives in the face of what has happened.
