Window Cleaning

IT'S SPRING!

Spring is here, and that means Spring Cleaning.  Most people have had there windows closed tight through out the winter months.  Now that the weather is nice again, open those windows and give them a good cleaning.

According to this article from TLC, you should clean your windows at least twice a year.  Since we don't clean the windows that often, you might need a refresher course on the best way to clean your windows.

Samsung Smart Window

Check out Samsung's smart window in the video below.  Is this the window of the future?

Basically this window is one way glass that allows you to use your window like a large iPad.  There are many different widgets, or apps, available.  You can surf the web while you enjoy the view.  Since the glass works like a one way mirror, no one would be able to look inside or see what you are doing on the window.

The blinds feature is really neat, too.  It allows you to close the "blinds" on the window, and block out all light coming in.

Samsung hopes to have the window available to consumers by the end of the year.  So far, there is no retail price available.

Passvie House Concept

A new type of house is on the rise.  It's called a passive house, and it reduces energy use by up to 90%!  "A Passive House is a very well-insulated, virtually air-tight building that is primarily heated by passive solar gain and by internal gains from people, electrical equipment, etc."  This type of house design has been very popular, and has recently been introduced in the U.S.
